Amanda Modes, DVM

Dr. Amanda Modes

Dr. Amanda Modes grew up nearby on Long Island. While it was her lifelong dream to become a veterinarian, it was during a safari in Africa that she knew it was truly where her heart was.

Dr. Modes attended Lafayette College where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience in 2007. She took a year to gain some clinical experience working at the Central Park Zoo as well as the Animal Medical Center in NYC. She then attended the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. During her veterinary education Dr. Modes was very involved in the Wildlife Medical Clinic; a non-profit organization run primarily by veterinary student volunteers providing medical care to native wildlife species and education to local residents. After four long years in the Midwest, she was excited to move back East and pursue additional training as a Rotating Doctor at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. Prior to joining Westfield Vet Group she spent a year at a general practice in Bergen County.

Dr. Modes is interested in both medicine and surgery and feels strongly about client education. She also has special professional interests in wildlife/exotic medicine and neurology. Dr. Modes lives with her husband and two crazy mutts, Macie and Flyer. She enjoys photography, reading, and loves to travel.
