Veterinary technicians are a critical part of the veterinary care team here at Westfield Veterinary Group. They serve as the veterinarian’s right hand and are also responsible for interacting with our amazing clients. They act as nurses, surgical assistants, anesthetists, X-ray technicians, dental hygienists, grief counselors, and also wear about a dozen more hats every day. To say that these hard-working professionals excel at multi-tasking is an understatement.
Certified veterinary technicians are educated, trained, and tested on their skills in order to support our veterinarians. To maintain certification, they must continue to take classes throughout their career. This is a big commitment – but all of our veterinary technicians strive to provide the highest standard of patient care.
And not only do veterinary technicians need a multitude of specialized skills, they need to have a thorough understanding of different species as well. That’s no small task at Westfield Veterinary Group since we also treat exotic pets!
