Amanda Modes, DVM
Dr. Amanda Modes grew up nearby on Long Island. It was her lifelong dream to become a veterinarian—an aspiration that was affirmed during a safari in Africa.
Dr. Modes earned her bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Lafayette College in 2007. After a year gaining clinical experience at the Central Park Zoo and the Animal Medical Center in New York City, she attended the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, receiving her DVM degree in 2012.
During her veterinary education, Dr. Modes was involved in the Wildlife Medical Clinic, a non-profit organization run primarily by veterinary student volunteers that provide medical care to native wildlife and education to local residents. After four years in the Midwest, she was excited to move back East and pursue additional training as a rotating intern at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. Prior to joining Westfield Vet Group, she spent a year at a general practice in Bergen County.
Dr. Modes is interested in both medicine and surgery and feels strongly about client education. She also has special interests in wildlife/exotic medicine and neurology. Dr. Modes lives with her husband and two crazy mutts, Macie and Flyer. She enjoys photography and reading and loves to travel.
