Dr. Leighann Diehl is a New Jersey native, and knew she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was 10 years old. To achieve that dream, she attended Bucknell University where she earned her bachelor of science degree in biology. She then attended the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, Canada, graduating with honors.
A highlight of her time in veterinary school was participating in The Chinook Project, traveling to Inuit communities in Labrador, Canada, to spay and neuter sled dogs. She returned to New Jersey to complete an internship with Garden State Veterinary Specialists, during which she developed an interest in dermatology, internal medicine, and emergency care. After completing her internship, she joined the Westfield Veterinary Group team.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Diehl loves staying active by running and hiking with her dog. She lives with her husband and their fur babies, which include three cats (Bert, Penelope, and Delilah), and a shelter pup named Millenium Falcon (Millie for short).
